Upcoming litters

We are planning a litter from Roche this year (2025).
(Mating June | Born August | 8wks in October.)

We will be using Obi (Silvershot’s Everything is Awesome at Kasmegs - IMP USA), owned by Mike Ede.

This unique breeding will be 75% US field trial lines and 25% French/Belgian field lines, here in the UK.
The COI is only 4.4%.
Please see 5 generation pedigree below.
Both parents are health-tested.

As obvious from the pedigree below, it’s anticipated these pups will have exceptional working ability.
Please get in touch to join the mailing list for updates, with no commitment required at this stage.
This is a unique opportunity to own a pup which is 75% US field trial lines - and new blood for the UK - without having to import him/her.

  • What we offer

Some of the most significant items here are not tangible, visible, things - but our time and our love. We prioritise your puppy’s needs. We do not breed to make money. Jo is a qualified trainer and behaviourist with over 20 years experience.

🐾 Puppies are registered with the UK Royal Kennel Club.

🐾 Both parents are fully health-tested.

🐾 COIs are low (below 6%).

🐾 In choosing stud dogs, we look for strong working ability. We prioritise hunting and pointing to uphold the Weimaraner breed standard (‘hunting ability of paramount importance’).

🐾 Puppies will be known (and loved) by us, from birth. They will have two people raising them as a full-time job.

🐾 Puppies will be microchipped and legally docked, with completed paperwork.

🐾 Puppies will be wormed regularly with Drontal Puppy or Panacur.

🐾 Puppies are raised in a busy household and will meet our other dogs and visitors.

🐾 Puppies will be raised using Puppy Culture and Avidog protocols. (It is quick and easy to write this, but it encompasses a huge amount and we recommend you research this to understand the benefits.)

🐾 Puppies will be extensively socialised with people, with our other dogs, and with as much environmental stimuli as possible - keeping everything manageable and not over-whelming or stressful.

🐾 Puppies will be raised on a premium raw diet designed for pups and supplemented with small amounts of premium kibble. Food/vouchers will be provided in their Puppy Packs.

🐾 By the age of 8wks, puppies will have received initial training, including: Toilet training; crate training; protocols to discourage resource guarding; manding/default sit; understanding the clicker as a marker; introduction to tracking (scent pads); introduction to collars & harnesses; introduction to shaping. (The goal is not for your puppy to have mastered all this, but to be introduced to the concept of training: Working with a human to earn reinforcement.)

🐾 Puppies will come with 4 weeks free PetPlan pet insurance.

🐾 Puppies will come with a detailed Puppy Pack and Handbook. The Puppy Pack includes a USB drive with videos and photos of their time with us.

🐾 Puppies come with lifetime support and advice from us. If you are unable to care for your dog, we will take them back. We never want to see any dog we have bred end up in rescue.

🐾 We are able to keep puppies past 8wks if necessary and to help with import/export requirements. Our goal is to see pups end up in the best homes, wherever those homes are.

  • Step-by-step

Every breeder has a slightly different process. Sometimes puppy buyers are afraid to ask questions about how things work, so we’ve put together this list to explain how we do things. If anything isn’t clear, please do ask.

    1) Fill out this enquiry form to join the mailing list for the litter. This is simply to express initial interest. There is no commitment involved. Feel free to ask any questions you have.

    2) As we approach the breeding, we will send you an online questionnaire. This is intended to help us match you up to the right pup for your life and your goals. Let us know exactly what you are looking for, in a pup. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers and we consider what each home can offer on an individual basis. There is still no commitment involved.

    3) If the breeding is successful, we will meet - usually on Zoom - so we can have a chat. You will have questions for us and we will for you.

    4) We will let you know how the pregnancy goes and when it is confirmed by ultrasound - usually 30 days post-breeding. (We don’t x-ray for a more exact count as we don’t want to expose developing foetuses to radiation but we can get a rough count from u/s.)

    5) When pups are born, we will let you know by the time pups are 5-7 days old if we have a pup for you. We ask for your patience at this time. There is a lot happening immediately after whelping, including vet checks and docking plus ensuring everyone is gaining weight and thriving - along with taking care of the physical health of mum, post-whelping. We won’t be able to tell you which pup is yours, yet. At this point, a fully refundable deposit is due.

    6) We will keep you updated in detail as we raise the pups. We want you to share in these early weeks as much as possible.

    7) We will let you know which pup best meets your requirements at around 7.5wks. We appreciate this is quite late, but the longer we wait, the more accurately we can assess the pups and determine which is best for your needs. You can always choose not to accept the pup. We will refund your deposit in full.

    8) The balance is due when you collect the pup. There is no rush to collect first, because there is no ‘first come, first served’. We like to make sure there is time for each new home and for no one to feel rushed.

    9) Some puppies stay on beyond 8wks, sometimes because they are going abroad or due to new owners’ pre-booked trips. Individual arrangements will be made for these pups as each situation will be unique. We will keep a pup for ourselves from the litter and any additional pups staying on represent considerable extra work so this will incur additional costs which we will discuss with you.

FAQs

  • We are looking for homes which intend to work their dog, in some capacity. We will also consider active, dog-sport homes. Beyond this, it is hard to give any absolutes, because we consider each home on a case-by-case basis. We will let you know if we can add you to our list after you’ve completed the application form. Once you are on the list, it will depend on what ‘comes out’ as to whether you have a pup.

  • Unfortunately it’s not possible to do this. We explain more on this page about docking.

  • We plan on having a litter only once every 4-5 years, to keep a pup from and continue on with. We are too busy training and working the dogs to have litters more frequently than this because we put so much into raising each litter. (It takes us about 4 years to recover!!) However, there may be circumstances where we need to have a litter sooner.

  • Our priority is finding the best homes for our pups, wherever those homes are. We would love to hear from you, even if you live abroad. Small pups usually travel well and are much easier to transport than large adult dogs!

There is some information we will need from you: 1) The minimum age a pup can be imported into your country (according to import restrictions); 2) The minimum age a pup can travel (flight, ferry or train) with the carrier (this can vary from carrier to carrier); 3) Any requirements in terms of health, vet checks, rabies vaccines etc.

We appreciate it can be difficult to find out some of this and we are happy to help figure it out with you.

Any pups staying with us past 8wks will continue to receive optimal socialisation and training, but there will be an additional cost to this - which will depend on the length of time they are with us.
