Whilst she was very successful at working tests, after a few field trials, we retired her from competition to enjoy picking up on shoots.

Slate was from Kay Clarke’s Blaujager kennel, in Wales. Kay owned both of Slate’s parents and had made them up to Show Champions.
Slate introduced us to ‘everything gundog’. She was a small but very fast dog - and an extremely keen retriever. She was also very food-motivated.
However, like many show-bred Weimaraners, sadly Slate lacked hunting and pointing ability.
